Pet Sitting
At Leash and Collar Pet Services, the safety and well-being of your pets is our top priority. We take every precaution to provide a clean, healthy environment where you can feel confident that your pet(s) is safe and enjoying their time while they are away from you. 

Please take note of our policies. They have been put in place to insure the fair treatment of every client, as well as our continued ability to provide the valuable service that we offer to this community.

1)  Payment and Cancellation Policy
All payment for Pet Sitting is due before Client’s departure date. We accept credit and debit cards, local checks, and cash. Any unpaid Invoice older than 30 days will be sent to a Collection Agency. Special payment arrangements that are agreed to and followed will not be sent to a Collection Agency. By signing this contract, Client agrees to the Leash and Collar cancellation policy which is as follows:

During non-holiday and non-summertime periods, the Leash and Collar cancellation policy is as follows:
     -8 or more days’ notice for cancellation prior to reservation: FULL REFUND GIVEN TO CLIENT.
     -4-7 days’ notice for cancellation: 50 % OF TOTAL FEE REFUNDED TO CLIENT.
     -3 or fewer days’ notice for cancellation: NO REFUND GIVEN TO CLIENT; FULL RESERVATION FEE WILL BE
      CHARGED TO CLIENT.

During Pet Sitting over major holidays and the summer period between May 1-Sept 10, or for Pet Sitting reservations that are longer than 10 days in length, or at other high demand or low demand times (COVID-19, etc.), the Leash and Collar Pet Services’ cancellation policy is as follows:
     -15 or more days’ notice for cancellation prior to reservation: FULL REFUND GIVEN TO CLIENT.
     -7-14 days’ notice for cancellation: 50 % OF TOTAL FEE REFUNDED TO CLIENT.
     -6 or fewer days’ notice for cancellation: NO REFUND GIVEN TO CLIENT; FULL RESERVATION FEE
      WILL BE CHARGED TO CLIENT.

Early Return to Home, or Late Departure from Home
Because the purpose of making Reservations is to set aside time for Sitter availability for Client’s reservation dates, Clients returning home early or departing later than the reservation will be required to pay for THE FULL RESERVATION AMOUNT OF TIME. No amount of money will be refunded to Client for late departures from home, or early returns to home, after reservation dates have been agreed upon.

Dog Walking Cancellation
Regular monthly Pet Walk Clients agree to give three (3) weeks’ notice should Client decide to discontinue regular ongoing pet walking service. If Client cannot or does not give three (3) weeks’ notice, Client agrees to compensate Leash and Collar for what would have been the total for three weeks of regular Dog Walking service. Leash and Collar agrees that should Client discontinue service due to blatantly poor care/service from walker for any reason, then this three (3) week notice policy will not be enforced by Leash and Collar Pet Services.
  ​2)  Client Home Care Policy
Client is responsible for pet-proofing their house and yard, and for security, including fences, gates, and/or latches. Leash and Collar will not be responsible for the safety of the pet(s) and will not be liable for the death, injury, disappearance or legal consequences of any pet(s) with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

Leash and Collar is not responsible for damage to the home beyond the control of the Sitter. This includes, but is not limited to electrical problems, leaks, and acts of nature. All repairs to home and related fees will be paid by Client or fully reimbursed to Leash and Collar within seven (7) days of Client’s return date.

Leash and Collar is not responsible for any damage to the property or home of the Client unless such damage is caused by the negligent act of Leash and Collar Pet Services.

Leash and Collar is not liable for any loss or damage in the event of a burglary or other crime that should occur while under this contract. Client agrees to secure home prior to leaving the premises. Leash and Collar will attempt to re-secure the home according to Client instructions at the end of each visit.

Leash and Collar is not responsible for wilted, dead or otherwise unhealthy plants. Leash and Collar Sitters will work hard to follow written instructions as precisely as possible but cannot be responsible if the results are not favorable to the Client. All indoor plants will be placed together on a waterproof surface in plain sight. The Pet Sitter is not responsible for water-damaged areas or missed plants.
​​3)  Veterinary Care and/or Restocking Supplies
Client agrees to pay the medical costs, and/or any fees, from animal(s) being ill or otherwise needing veterinary care.  Client agrees to pay Leash and Collar $20 per hour, should the Sitter need to take the pet(s) to the vet. If the Sitter needs to restock supplies that the Client agrees to provide, but that are not provided at the time of the Sitting (such as pet food or medication), Client agrees to reimburse the cost of supplies and pay Leash and Collar a $20 restocking fee.
​​4)  Injury and Unsafe Pets Policy
Injury to Client’s animal(s) by another animal
Leash and Collar and its employees will not be responsible for any animal(s) that instigate fights with other animals or is injured by another animal while in Leash and Collar Pet Services’ care. Leash and Collar will take all appropriate actions to ensure that Client’s animal(s) are not placed in the company of aggressive or violent animals and/or will immediately remove Client’s animal(s) from any animal fight.

Injury or escape of animals
Client and Leash and Collar employee are aware that the highest level of care shall be given to all pets under care of the Leash and Collar employees. Client is aware that pet(s) are instinctual in nature and not always controllable by the employees, even when the highest level of care is provided. Should the Client’s animal(s) run away or be injured, the Client agrees that Leash and Collar will not be held responsible for any liability. The above waiver of liability in favor of Leash and Collar shall not apply or be effective if Leash and Collar conduct in providing its pet care services is found to be grossly negligent, reckless, or if there is intentional misconduct.

Injury to Employee or another person by Client’s Animal(s)
Client will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to Leash and Collar employee, or other persons, by the Client’s pet(s). Client agrees to pay the full cost of all medical expenses and/or damage to the Leash and Collar employee or the employee’s possessions as a result of the Client’s animal’s(s) actions. Client agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Leash and Collar in the event of a claim by any person injured by the Client’s pet(s).

Unsafe Pet(s)
This contract permits Leash and Collar to use discretion to stop and end service at any time that Client’s pet(s) pose a danger to the safety and health of itself, other pets, other people or Leash and Collar employees.

Off-leash Pet(s)
Some of our Clients request off-leash activity and play for their pet(s). Client is aware and agrees that the Client’s pet(s) may be off-leash in designated pet parks and other legal-for-pets’ areas (e.g. fire roads, etc.) in order to provide maximum exercise and play for Client’s pet(s). Client agrees that should the Client’s pet(s) run away or be injured during the off-leash play time, neither Leash and Collar nor its employees will be held liable for any damages resulting to people or other animals or to the Client’s pet(s).
​​5)  Solicitation of Leash and Collar Employees
Client agrees that the Pet Sitter/Walker provided by Leash and Collar is employed through Leash and Collar and is contracted to work only through Leash and Collar and not directly through the individual Client listed above. Client agrees that all reservations for present and future Sitting and Dog Walking must be made through Leash and Collar and not the individual Sitter. Client is aware that the Leash and Collar Sitter/Walker may give out his/her personal number to the Client. Client agrees that this number shall not be used for any solicitation of future Pet Sitting or Dog Walking. Client is aware that should this contract be broken; legal fees and misuse-of-staff charges will apply.
